The Old Dominion University Civil and Environmental Engineering Visiting Council (CEEVC) invite you to attend a one-day seminar:

 

Municipal Contracts:

What does the future hold for design professionals and the contracting community?

 

Wednesday, May 11, 2011                        8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

The objective of the seminar is to disseminate information to the architectural, engineering and contracting community on potential projects and budgets that municipal agencies are developing for upcoming years. Agency representatives will present their budgets, procurement trends, project lists and priorities for the next fiscal year.

Representative agencies will include Public Utilities, Public Works, Public Schools and Economic Development agencies at the following municipalities (speakers subject to change):  

  • Norfolk
  • Portsmouth
  • Virginia Beach
  • Chesapeake
  • Suffolk
  • Hampton
  • Newport News
  • Poquoson
  • York County

As well as Newport News Waterworks and James City Service Authority.

Special Sessions include relevant topics on engineering business opportunities:

 ·         $4 billion for the 900 transportation projects in the VDOT 6-year plan

·         HRSD’s Capital improvement Plans.

For over 20 years, twice a year, the ODU CEEVC has facilitated agencies and localities relaying their needs, requirements and expectations to the architectural, engineering and contracting community.  Proceeds from this event go to supporting two (2) undergraduate and one (1) graduate student scholarships in the ODU Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.  ODU CEEVC is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers who support the education mission of the ODU CEE Department.
